Individuals 60 years and older who want to eat healthful meals and enjoy good fellowship can receive hot, nutritious meals provided by Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula at six locations in a "people environment" on the Monterey Peninsula. At these locations, people meet and make friends who often become their "family." Meals, which supply 1/3 of the USDA dietary requirement for older adults, are prepared daily in Meals on Wheels' kitchen located in the Sally Griffin Center and are delivered to each of the satellite locations. These locations also provide activities that are vital to healthy aging and independence. A modest donation is requested to cover client share of cost.

Important as preparation, diet and presentation are, experts agree that the ultimate flavor enhancer may just be the friendly atmosphere.
